Quebec

We crossed into Canada at Cornwall, Ontario and made our way east. We found a place to stay in Granby, Quebec for the evening and slept in the car with dark clouds overhead. Luckily it didn't rain overnight and we were able to keep the screens open on the car. Lisa was up with the sunrise and therefore I was up right after the sunrise and we were showered, packed and off.

Our first stop was the IGA in Granby where we stocked up on fruits and vegetables. We bought a waxed block of gouda cheese and bread to enjoy on the drive as well as a fruit smoothie for breakfast. We also made our first Tim Horton's stop for donuts - I ordered in French and almost got what I asked for. Yum!

The clouds opened up and started to pour on our drive but we decided to head into Quebec City regardless. We donned hiking boots, umbrellas and raincoats as we blew around the old city. We admired the architecture on our way to enjoy the real reason for the venture: poutine and chocolate croissants. We dodged raindrops by winding in and out of the Chateau Frontenac.

We continued driving east as the rain slowly let up - finishing our cheese on the way. We are about to bid farewell to the St. Lawrence River, which we have been following since yesterday and head inland towards New Brunswick for the evening.
